How to Raise a Boxer Puppy
Raising a dog is a different thing for everyone. It is similar to
rearing children due to the fact that everyone will have different
styles of discipline. That being said, there are certain things that
must be done to raise a well behaved puppy.

The main focus of the owner should be on training in the beginning.
Boxers are very playful and rambunctious dogs. So training is essential
to having a Boxer that behaves well.
You must establish dominance over the dog immediately in order to gain
any control over the dog. This means that you will need to spend a lot
of time in the beginning letting the Boxer know that you are the alpha.
This will sometimes leave you feeling that you are constantly
disciplining your dog. But it is necessary in the early stages to
establish this role and will make everyone in the household happier in
the long term.
For your Boxer to remain happy his/her health needs to be monitored by a
veterinarian on a regular basis. There are a number of health concerns
that plague this breed. But with vigilance and care keeping you dog
healthy will never be an issue.
One way to make sure that your Boxers health is maintained is to let the
dog live in the house. Your Boxer will need to be taken outside
regularly to be walked and played with. But for the most part, they are
inside dogs. This is due to the fact that Boxers cannot breath well in
extreme hot and cold temperatures. So keeping your Boxer inside most of
the time will omit this problem.
Another essential factor in raising a Boxer is interaction. This breed
is very energetic and gets bored easily without stimulation. That means
that the dog will find something to occupy his/her time and that can
lead to trouble.
Simply petting the dog daily is not a good source of interaction. Boxers
love to play and run. Take your dog outside to play fetch or just run
around with you. This not only leads to bonding between you and the dog,
but will help him/her expend that pent up energy.
Boxers make great pets because of their good natured temperaments.
However, they must get the attention needed to stay that way. So make
sure that your Boxer receives the proper training and interaction so
that you will have a very happy time together.
